Consultation on draft Green Public Procurement National Action Plan

Consultation on Draft Green Public Procurement National Action Plan

A draft National Action Plan on Green Public Procurement (GPP) has been prepared by the Department, in close cooperation with the National Public Procurement Policy Unit of the Department of Finance and with the National Procurement Service, based in the Office of Public Works. This process has been assisted and informed by an inter-Departmental working group on GPP, and also by the feedback from an initial public consultation exercise which took place from May to September, 2010.

This draft National Action Plan is now available for public consultation. It puts forward seven priority product groups for which the public sector should have GPP criteria in all of their tendering processes:

  1. Construction
  2. Energy
  3. Food and catering services
  4. Transport
  5. Cleaning products and services
  6. Paper
  7. Uniforms and other textiles

The consultation period will last until Friday, July 8th 2011.
